  • I (finally) found a job! =D

    Hey there!

So, after 4 weeks of searching and complaining, I have finally landed myself a job! I'm so happy because now I have something to do with all my time, AND I get money ;) So, it's a waitressing/cooking job a fish and chips place close to my house. It's a small, family restaurant, and the hours aren't bad at all. I just interviewed with the manager today, and she seems really nice, a big contrast to my last boss who was stand-offish and let this other woman run basically the place, even though it was his job.

Anyways, so - of course - I had hoped to get into the retail market this time around because I really would love to work there. However, with my lack of retail experience, it was hard to find a place that would hire me. So, finally, after four weeks of searching, I've broken down and accepted a food/service industry job - again. Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful to have found this job in such bad economic times, but I wonder if I keep trying, will I get that retail job I'm really after? From what I've seen of my boss, she seems pretty flexible when it comes to acomodating hours for other part-time jobs. Hopefully, I'll find a retail position, and be able to work both places. That would be nice :)

So, my question to you is, now that the economy is on the downturn, would you accept any job you get, or hold out till you find that perfect job you've been looking for?

i've made the mistake of holding off and waiting for a great job. I graduated this year, and I'm SICK of working at dead end jobs where I'm getting poor pay and no relevant experience for my future. :/ Maybe it was the wrong time to do this, but I'm determined.
